Brynna's two month check up

Brynna had her two month check up yesterday (she was 2 months on the 22nd, but couldn't get in until yesterday). She is doing great, growing well, and is a very happy baby. She did cry A LOT when she got her shots, but did okay at home the rest of the day...except for one short period when I let her Tylenol wear off.

Vital Stats:
Weight 11.1 lbs (80%)
Height 23 inches (75%)

**Note of interest: Grant was the SAME size at his two month check up, actually he weighed 11.2 lbs and same height, but he was only in the 45%...I learned there are different growth charts for boys/girls. So, Grant grew REALLY fast those first two months since he started out more than two pounds lighter and 2 inches shorter than Brynna did.

Trying to sleep it off...

Later in the day, happy as could be in her swing.

Grant's new toy

Grant's favorite toy, his Jeep, broke today. He has ridden it so much that he stripped the gears and it wouldn't go anymore. Well, it was his lucky day...Grandma Paula just happened to be at our house when the Jeep broke and she couldn't bear to think of poor little Grant without wheels! So, we looked on Craig's List and found this!!! He's now the proud owner of a John Deere Gator. He LOVES it...
When he and Lee went to look at it, the guy that had it was SO impressed with Grant's driving abilities. He said his 6 and 7 year olds couldn't even drive it that well...we didn't tell him about the garage/Trail Blazer incident :)

Thank you Grandma Paula!!!

Pictures from the week...

Brynna is getting really good at smiling!

She loves it outside almost as much as Grant.

It was finally hot enough to get the pool out. I think he needed some sunglasses, he's a little squinty :)

This is how Daddy handles Brynna's screaming....(notice his ears).
She had a really bad evening and cried for almost 4 hours straight (totally out of character for her). She finally stopped when I put her in the bath...then she slept for 7 hours straight?!?!

Vandewater Family Reunion

The annual Vandewater Family Reunion was held at the farm last Sunday. It was complete with a pot luck, white elephant silent auction, hay ride, four wheelers, kites, balloon flying, and an all together great time with family.

Lee and Grant pulled the hay ride.

Grant played with a baby doll, aka action figure.

Most of the "Vandewater gang" - Jon, Heather and family had already left :(

Bedtime for ???

This is what happens when Daddy puts Grant to bed.

Nighty, night!

Cousins

Brynna and her cousin, Owen (Matt and Tiffany). Owen is 9 days older than Brynna and about 9 lbs heavier (well, probably not 9, but he's a big boy)!

He may be bigger, but she's not afraid to hit him in the head :)

Grant, Owen, and Brynna

Eeewww!!!

I usually LOVE living in the country. I love the wide open spaces, the trees, the lack of people and cars, the cool breezes and the sound of owls and whipporwhills outside the bedroom window at night...however,

EEEWWWW!!!!

This CREEPY spider was on our front porch tonight. I have no idea what kind of spider it was and I was scared to get close enough to kill it. So, it's alive and well...I wish I would have squashed it, when did I become such a wuss??

Baby Dedication

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. " Proverbs 22:6
Today, we dedicated our children to God. We promised, with God's help, and the support of our family and church, to raise our children in a way that will lead them (we pray) to a true relationship with Jesus Christ.

Grant and Brynna

Just a few cute snapshots from the week.
Brynna started smiling...this is as close as I could get to capturing it.

Grant sharing is beloved "Frog" with his baby sister.

"Crying Over Spilled Milk"

One morning last week I was downstairs throwing in a load of laundry while Grant was finishing up his breakfast. All of the sudden I heard Grant SCREAMING!!! I ran upstairs and was worried that I would find Grant stuck somewhere or worse...

This is what I found...Grant was soaked in milk, along with the table, chair, and floor. I was relieved that all I had was a mess to clean up!
